2. Website & Email Hosting Infrastructure
The searchgain.io website and email services (info@searchgain.io) are hosted and operated by Hostinger International Ltd., with whom we maintain a Data Processing Addendum (DPA) in accordance with GDPR Article 28.
In this context:
- SearchGain (Paula Mendes Corado da Silva) is the Data Controller
- Hostinger International Ltd. is the Data Processor
Hostinger processes data only according to our documented instructions and implements appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect personal data. Hostinger is fully GDPR-compliant and certified under ISO/IEC 27001:2022. Hostinger's relevant sub-processors include Cloudflare, Inc. and Proofpoint, Inc.
3. What Data We Collect
a) Analytics Data (Google Analytics 4)
When you visit searchgain.io, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) automatically collects: Pages visited, time spent, approximate geographic location, device type, browser, traffic source, and anonymous interaction data. This data is anonymised and aggregated. IP anonymisation is enabled.
b) Email Communications
If you contact us via email, we will process your name and email address solely to respond to your enquiry. Email is hosted by Hostinger and filtered through Proofpoint for security purposes.
c) Server & Access Logs
Hostinger may automatically collect server access logs that include your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and timestamp for security and technical maintenance purposes.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data on the following legal grounds under GDPR Article 6:
- Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): Website analytics and technical security.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Where you have given explicit consent.
- Contract Performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): To fulfil our contractual obligations to clients.
5. Google Analytics 4 & Cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand website traffic. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, adjusting browser settings, or using our cookie consent tool.
6. Data Retention
- GA4 analytics data: Retained for 14 months.
- Email communications: Retained for up to 2 years from last contact.
- Client engagement data: Retained for the duration of engagement plus 5 years per Portuguese tax law.
7. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: Hostinger International Ltd. (Hosting), Cloudflare, Inc. (CDN/Security), Proofpoint, Inc. (Email filtering), and Google LLC (Analytics).
8. International Data Transfers
Appropriate safeguards are in place for transfers outside the EEA, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and active participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

10. Data Security
We implement technical measures like SSL/TLS encryption. Hostinger maintains ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification.
